CairnVault has two charges, and you never have to pay to try it. You can build your entire plan for free, with no credit card, and only pay when you are ready to activate it. When you do pay, this policy explains exactly how refunds and cancellations work.
The two charges are a one-time $79 to activate your vault and an optional $29 per year maintenance plan for ongoing updates. They are billed separately and are never bundled.
If you are not satisfied with CairnVault, you may request a full refund of the one-time $79 activation fee within 14 days of your purchase. We will refund the full amount, no questions asked. After 14 days, the one-time activation fee is non-refundable.
Because your vault is encrypted on your own device and we cannot read its contents, requesting a refund does not require us to access your data. If you ask us to, we will also delete your account and stored ciphertext as described in our .
The optional $29/year maintenance plan can be canceled at any time. When you cancel, you keep access to the maintenance features through the end of the year you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
The annual maintenance fee is not prorated — canceling partway through a paid year does not generate a partial refund for the remaining months. If a maintenance renewal charges you and you did not intend to renew, contact us within 14 days of that charge and we will refund it.
Email us at support@cairnvault.app from the address associated with your account, and tell us whether you want a refund of the activation fee, to cancel the maintenance plan, or both. You can also cancel the maintenance plan from your account page. We aim to respond within two business days.
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through our payment processor, Stripe. Once we issue a refund it typically takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer. We do not charge any fee to process a refund.
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy at cairnvault.app with a new effective date. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
